On April 13th, wooga Software Developer Tim Lossen gave a 45 minute presentation on the technical details of wooga’s backend architecture titled “Redis to the Rescue?”. The presentation was part of the O’Reilly MySQL Conference and Expo, which took place in Santa Clara, California from April 11th to the 14th.

Tim’s talk was a case study that recounted how wooga successfully scaled up two Facebook games to one million daily active users each, and why wooga decided to replace MySQL (once partially, once fully) with Redis, and what difficulties were encountered on the way, and how they were solved.
