Today marks the one year anniversary of Diamond Dash on Facebook! Wooga’s 5th game launched on March 15th 2011 and has since gone on to excite players from all over the world with it’s addictive 60 second gem rush gameplay.
Wooga Goes to GDC
The excitement level has reached a fever pitch. Throughout the Wooga office there are bags packed, people huddled about, and the words“GDC” and “San Francisco” can be frequently be heard amongst the hustle and bustle. The Game Developers Conference kicks off in San Francisco next week, and there’s a huge flock of Woogas attending!
Another Mate, Mate?
Wooga’s office has witnessed a passionate debate over the last days about how to actually pronounce Berlin’s Startup ambrosia, Club Mate. A note left on the company’s fridge told employees that it was actually pronounced “mate” [meyt] and not “mate” [ˈmaːtə].
185% User Growth in 2011 – Berlin Start Up #3 on Facebook
In 2011, Wooga saw its userbase grow by 185% – surging from 14 million in January 2011 to over 40 million users currently playing Wooga’s games every month. New games Diamond Dash and Magic Land launched on Facebook, with synchronized mobile versions following shortly after which enabled players players to connect across platforms, and in turn brought Wooga’s total to six Flash and two mobile games.
Happy Second Birthday, Bubble Island
Today, the Bubble Island Team and everyone at Wooga are very excited to celebrate Bubble Island’s second birthday. Launched in February 2010, Bubble Island has been played by more than 48 million people since its release two years ago and put the popular bubble shooter genre on the social games’ map.
