Q: What is the best way to find what positions are open?
A: You can find our open positions in the section “Jobs”.The jobs offers are updated regularly.
Q: What possibilities are there for students?
A: You are welcome to apply for an internship (usually 3-6 months) or to become a working student at wooga. Furthermore, we offer excellent starting positions for graduates. Please have a closer look at our “Jobs”.
Q: What documents should I include in my application?
A: Please send us a cover letter and your CV. Also, your transcripts, a coding sample or your design portfolio provide helpful information, depending on which position you are applying for. Generally, please supply all documents in English.
Q: How many employees does wooga have in total?
A: At the moment wooga has more than 150 employees. However, as the number is constantly growing, please have a look at our blog for recent updates.
Q: Do I need to speak English fluently to work at wooga?
A: Yes, all communication within the company is in English! So you really do need to speak good English to work at wooga. In addition, for some localization-related positions we might expect you to be fluent in other languages. But this will be listed within the respective job positions.
Q: When can I expect to hear from wooga?
A: We appreciate your interest and work hard to look closely into every application and give feedback as soon as possible. However, because we receive many applications review can sometimes take a while. If you have not heard from us please feel free to initiate contact yourself.
Q: Will I be expected to travel a lot?
A: One studio – one timezone is one of our core principles. So generally the amount of business travel will be rather limited. However, you may need to travel for training purposes or for conferences.
Interview-specific
Q: What should I wear for the interview?
A: As the working atmosphere at wooga is quite casual, there is no need to be dressed formally, e.g. you do not need to wear a suit. However, please keep in mind that your first impression is very important.
Q: What can I do to prepare for my interview?
A: You should have definitely tried our games! Additionally, take a look around our homepage, and get familiar with the social gaming industry in general. Be prepared to answer problem solving and algorithm questions. In the interviews you will also be asked to think out loud – so if you are not used to that, we recommend you to practice it beforehand.
Q: Who will I be interviewed by at wooga?
A: You start of with an interview with one of our recruiters. The next steps are interviews with your future team colleagues and team leaders. Depending on what position you are applying for, the amount of interviews varies quite a bit.
Q: How long will the interview take?
A: We will discuss this with you on your interview day, as it depends on the position. You should expect up to 4 individual interviews which usually take 30 minutes each. Between the interviews you will have short breaks.
Q: What if I need to change my interview date?
A: After your interview date is confirmed, we prefer not to change the time schedule unless there is an emergency. If you must reschedule, please contact your recruiter as soon as possible and he/she will try to find a solution.
Q: What are the next steps after the interview?
A: After the last interview, your recruiter will follow up with you and explain the next steps. If we decide to move forward we are generally very fast in making an offer.
Receiving an offer
Q: If I receive an offer, how long will I have to make a decision?
A: We will determine a reasonable time frame with you when you receive the offer.
Q: How does the on-boarding process work?
A: We want you to arrive well and feel welcome onboard. You will have a number of starter sessions where you learn about the different activities we do from senior staff. Also, you will have a personal Mentor. And of course we will provide the equipment and facilities necessary for your work.
Q: Will I have opportunities for training and development after I am hired?
A: Definitely. Continuous learning, both formal and informal, is a key component of each employee’s career development at wooga. That’s why every employee receives an education budget of 1,500 € per year and 2 days off for training/conferences. Furthermore, wooga supports professional exchange at work with events such as brownbag lunches and our baking wooga lecture series.
Q: What do I need to know about living in Germany?

Q: What about relocation?
A: We will offer ways to make your relocation smooth and stress-free. We will also assist you with any visa-related issues you may have, we are becoming really good at getting people from all over the world into Germany! Additionally about 50% of our team members are from abroad, so you will find many people who were in your situation, maybe even from your country, eager to help!
