Senior Operations Engineer (m/f)

You will join our IT team, implementing and maintaining a high performance and reliable server infrastructure that will be able to serve several successful games at once. All our hardware is cloud based, our game API is REST based and we are one of the first to implement changes in the Facebook API. This position reports to the CTO.

Primary Responsibilities

• Continually improve the performance and scalability of our services
• Monitor service stability and performance
• Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, applications and network
• Prioritize tasks and work independently, while interacting with product and engineering teams
• Configure servers and network
• Write scripts to monitor and automate processes
• Document current and future configuration processes and policies

Required skills and experience

• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years work experience as an operations engineer
• Versatile professional: You have a creative mindset, good logical and analytical capabilities, good soft skills and you think from a user’s point of view
• Strong knowledge of Linux in a server environment
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, security, storage, SQL databases, and memcache
• Experience with PHP stack performance tuning
• Experience operating browser based multiplayer games a plus
• Understanding of scalability, systems engineering, and algorithms
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under fast deadlines
