Purpose and Scope
This Candidate Privacy Notice describes Wooga GmbH’s ("Wooga," "we," or "us") privacy practices that apply to our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information from our applicants (“you” and “your”) for employment, including internship opportunities with Wooga via our application portals, websites, or other recruitment channels (collectively, “Application Sites”). Wooga GmbH is the Data Controller for the purposes of this Notice.
For the purposes of this Candidate Privacy Notice:
“Candidate” means a current or former applicant for employment with us.
“Candidate Data” or “Candidate Personal Information” means the information we process in connection with your application and as part of the recruitment process, as further detailed below.
Your use of Wooga services is governed by any applicable terms and our general Privacy Notice.

Types of information we collect
As further described below, we collect several types of information from and about you that broadly fall into the below categories.
Wooga does not necessarily collect all of the personal data detailed in this Notice from every individual. The personal data Wooga holds about you will depend on the details of your relationship with Wooga, including where you are in the recruitment process, the role for which you’re being considered, and applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
In general, you decide yourself which data you share with us:
- Personal details - including name, address, email address, telephone number, information about your educational and professional background from publicly available sources, including online, that we believe is relevant to your application or a potential future application (e.g. your LinkedIn profile); photo and video data; data necessary for the employment or engagement agreement; or other personal details you choose to provide;
- Recruitment data - including your application, CV, interview notes, references or employment history from previous employers and third parties;
- Interview and assessment data - including information from interviews and phone-screenings you may have, and/or information related to any assessment you may take as part of the interview screening process, if any, which can be in the form of text, video and/or audio recordings;
- CCTV recordings - video footage if you interview in person at one of our offices with security cameras;
- Desired employment details - such as the type of employment you desire; current and/or requested salary and other terms related to compensation and/or benefits; willingness to relocate; other jobs you would consider;
- Reference and background check data - such as information you provide us as references, information received from background checks, including information provided by third parties and/or drug screening information (where applicable and permitted or required by law); and information sent to us by the vendor(s) who provide reference and/or background checks;
- Demographic information - any sensitive and/or demographic information provided by you during the application or recruitment process such as gender, information about your citizenship and/or nationality and immigration status, copied of ID documents, medical or health information and/or your racial or ethnic origin. Please note that we usually do not require you to share any sensitive information with us and discourage you to do so proactively. We will reach out to you if we need you to share specific sensitive data pursuant to applicable law.
- Other related information - such as how you heard about us and/or the position for which you applied; information related to previous applications for employment with us and/or previous employment history with us.
With respect to any personal data you provide to us about other people – for example, contact information for your references – you are responsible for getting any necessary consent from such people before providing any personal data to us.
How we use information we collect
Your Candidate Data will be used by Wooga for the purposes of managing your application and the recruitment process which includes:
- To evaluate your candidacy - to process and evaluate your application, assess your eligibility to work, make hiring decisions;
- To verify your application - including contacting your references, confirming the information in your application, and conducting background checks;
- Coordinating with you - communicating with you about the recruitment process and/or your application(s), including, in appropriate cases, informing you of other potential career opportunities at at Wooga and affiliated companies in the Playtika family (Playtika); to schedule interviews; assisting with travel arrangements, visas, and/or work permits (as applicable); processing reimbursement requests you submit for travel and other incurred expenses associated with your candidacy; proactively contacting you if we think you would be suitable for a role with us;
- Complying with our legal obligations and internal policies - including creating and submitting reports required by local law; filing, responding to, and/or defending against claims, disciplinary actions, legal processes or requirements; conducting investigations and incident response; responding to enforceable governmental requests;
- To manage and improve processes - including the application and recruitment and workplace safety and health;
- To promote and protect Wooga- including to protect candidates, staff, visitors, and/or the public; our rights, property, image and reputation as required or permitted by law.
- Analytics, benchmarking, reporting, and other business purposes – we may prepare, disclose, and/or publish aggregated and analytical information (information about you and other candidates collectively that is not intended to specifically identify you, such as individuals applying for a certain role or title and average pay associated with such role, or candidates within a certain age group) and other non-personal data about our candidate pool for analytics, benchmarking, reporting, and other business purposes.
Subject to applicable law, we may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist our recruitment teams in the hiring process, including supporting tasks such as drafting job descriptions, communicating with candidates, annotating transcripts, reviewing applications and responses to assessments and tests. These tools only assist our recruitment team, and we do not make decisions based solely on their automated processing. AI-assisted tasks are subject to human review, and final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
If you are offered and accept employment with Wooga, the information collected during the application and recruitment process will become part of your employment record.
Who may have access to your Candidate Data
We may disclose personal information contained in Candidate Data to the following categories of recipients:
- We will share your Candidate Personal Information with our HR team.
- We may share some of Candidate Personal Information with our service providers. We use other companies and individuals to assist us in considering your candidacy and managing the recruitment process, such as recruitment agencies, companies that help us check references and/or perform background checks, or to process reimbursement requests you submit;
- Because we operate our business as a corporate group of companies, we may also share your Candidate Personal Information with our affiliated companies in the Playtika family (e.g. Playtika Ltd. (Israel), Playtika Holding Corp. (US) and its subsidiaries) where lawful to share and for legitimate purposes such as for the same purposes set out above.
- Where required by law, we may also disclose your Candidate Personal Information to regulators, public authorities and reporting databases.
- In the event that Wooga or its affiliated companies, undertakes efforts to engage in a business transition like a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or part its assets (like selling a game), we may disclose or transfer relevant information we have, including personal data, to the successor organization in the transition; and
- Any other person with your consent to the disclosure.
We do not sell your Candidate Personal Information to third parties.
International Transfers
Wooga operates globally, which means your Candidate Data may be stored and processed outside of the country or region where it was originally collected.
We use a recruiting software tool provided by Greenhouse Software Inc., 18 West 18th Street, 9th Floor, New York, NY 10011, US (“Greenhouse”). Your data will be stored and processed on Greenhouse servers in the US for this purpose.
When we allow transfers of personal data to third countries outside the European Economic Area, this is based on Art. 44 et seq. GDPR, so only on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission or other appropriate safeguards (e.g. the standard contractual clauses).
Our retention of your Candidate Data
We will store your information for as long as we need to for recruiting purposes.
This will never be longer than six months after we have shared the outcome of your application - unless we ask for and receive your explicit consent to store your data in our talent pool for a longer period, e.g. for future openings (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. (a) and (f) GDPR, Sec. 26 para. 1 and 3 of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG) ), or we are obliged by law to keep the data for a longer period.
We retain this information for various reasons, including in case we face a legal challenge in respect of a recruitment decision, to consider you for other current or future jobs at Wooga and to help us better understand, analyze and improve our recruitment processes.

Security
We implement measures to reduce the risks of damage, loss of information and unauthorized access or use of Candidate Personal Information. We also request our affiliates to implement such measures in order to secure the information we provide them. However, although efforts are made to secure Candidate Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute protection.
Legal Basis for Processing
The legal basis under EU law for processing your Candidate Personal Information to evaluate your candidacy is both our legitimate interests in properly reviewing your candidacy and assessing your application to work at Wooga and for steps we need to take prior to entering into an employment contract with you.
The legal basis under EU law for retaining your Candidate Personal Information for further processing for future job openings is our legitimate interests in considering you for other job openings we may have.
The legal basis under EU law for retaining your Candidate Personal Information for recordkeeping purposes is our legitimate interest in asserting or defending legal claims that impact the course of our business or reputation.
Where we collect sensitive personal information from you, we will do so normally only with your explicit consent or where we have an obligation under employment law to process such information.
Your rights under the GDPR
- Right to Access and receive a copy of your Candidate Personal Information that we Process.
- Right to Rectify inaccurate Candidate Personal Information we have concerning you and to have incomplete Personal Information completed.
- Right to Data Portability - that is, to receive the Candidate Personal Information that you provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You have the right to transmit this data to another person or entity. Where technically feasible, you have the right to have your Candidate Personal Information transmitted directly from us to the person or entity you designate.
- Right to Object to our Processing of your Candidate Personal Information on the basis of our legitimate interest. However, we may override the objection if we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds, or if we need to Process such Candidate Personal Information for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
- Right to Restrict us from Processing your Candidate Personal Information (except for storing it): (a) if you contest the accuracy of the Candidate Personal Information (in which case the restriction applies only for a period enabling us to determine the accuracy of the Candidate Personal Information); (b) if the Processing is unlawful and you prefer to restrict the Processing of the Candidate Personal Information rather than requiring the deletion of such data by us; (c) if we no longer need the Candidate Personal Information for the purposes outlined in this Notice, but you require the Candidate Personal Information to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or (d) if you object to our Processing based on our legitimate interest (in which case the restriction applies only for the period enabling us to determine whether our legitimate grounds for processing override yours).
- Right to be Forgotten. Under certain circumstances, such as when our Processing of your Candidate Personal Information is based on your consent, you have the right to ask us to erase your Candidate Personal Information. However, notwithstanding such request, we may still process your Candidate Personal Information if it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time.
If you wish to exercise any of these rights, you may contact us as listed above.
When you contact us, we reserve the right to ask for reasonable evidence to verify your identity before we provide you with information. Where we are not able to provide you with information that you have asked for, we will explain the reason.
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. According to Article 77 of the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority, in the Member State of your residence, place of work or of an alleged infringement of the GDPR.
